Earley Resource Centre, Reading
This innovative design for the local community on a Greenfield site was built
following a voluntary partnering agreement between the client, contractor
and design consultants. The product is an environmentally sensitive
scheme which incorporates energy efficiency and reduced running costs
which are achieved by using natural ventilation, high insulation levels, low
energy lighting and a rainwater harvesting system.
The centre was short listed for the RIBA Awards for Architecture 2004 and
the Ibstock Downland Prize for Architects 2004.
Client: Crescent Community Association
