Hollybush Lodge, Oxford

This scheme was developed on a design & build basis in negotiation with the College to provide 40 single graduate rooms, complete with en-suite bathrooms and shared kitchen.

The new building structure consists of a reinforced concrete frame on piled foundations, finished externally with an insulated render system. The adjacent grade II listed ‘Lodge’ was restored and refurbished to provide two flats. Extensive stone repairs were carried out externally to the ‘Lodge’.

Both buildings incorporate environmentally friendly features using renewable and passive energy sources to give reduced carbon emissions and savings on energy costs.

The building won Oxford City Councils ‘Sustainable Building of The Year Award’ for 2008/2009.
